Organization
The Corgi and Dachshund Races (“Race" or "Races”) are sponsored by The Big Woof Festival (“Organizer”). The Races will take place on January 17-18, 2026, in Miami, FL ("Festival").
Eligibility
Open to legal residents of Miami-Dade, Broward, and Monroe Counties who are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry. Employees, contractors, directors, and officers of Organizer, its affiliates, advertising and promotion agencies, and their immediate family members are not eligible.
Corgi and Dachshund Race Registrations
Registration ends December 31, 2025, at 11:59 PM EST (“Registration Period”). The Organizer’s computer is the official time-keeping device.
Entering the Races
1. Entrant completes the appropriate, official entry form at: https://thebigwooffest.com/corgi-flash OR https://thebigwooffest.com/low-rider-rumble
2. Entrant posts a photo of their dog on Instagram during the Registration Period, including the dog’s name and fun facts about thedog in the caption, and mention @TheBigWoofFest.
3. Both the entry form and Instagram post are required for a valid entry during the Registration Period.
4. Limit: one (1) entry per person, per dog.
Race Day Participation Selection
For each race, entries are first-come, first-serve. From all eligible entries, thirty (30) race day participants ("Participants") will be selected by Organized based on order of registration. Participants will be notified via phone and email. Participants must respond within 48 hours with confirmation of attendance at the Festival. Failure to respond in time may result in disqualification and selection of alternate Participants. Participants will be provided with two credentials for Festival admission at no cost.
Conditions of Participation
By submitting an entry form, entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of the Organizer, which are final. Odds of being selected as a Participant depend on the number of eligible entries received during the Registration Period.
Privacy
Information collected through the entry form will be used only for Races administration.
General Conditions
Organizer reserves the right to cancel, suspend, or modify the Races if fraud, technical issues, or any other factor impairs the integrity of the Races. The Organizer may disqualify any entrants or Participants who tamper with the entry process or violates these Official Rules.
Voluntary Participation and Assumption of Risk
Participants understand that The Big Woof Festival (“Festival”) is outdoors, and animal performances involve inherent risks, including contact with other animals and the public, noise, weather/heat, uneven surfaces, staging/electrical equipment, slips/trips/falls, and the unpredictability of animal behavior. Participants voluntarily participate and assume all risks of injury/illness to the Participant and dog, and damage/loss to property, arising from taking part in the Races.
Release and Waiver
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Participants, and for dogs, release and forever discharges Organizer, venue owner, sponsors, vendors, municipalities, and their respective officers, directors, employees, contractors, and volunteers (“Released Parties”) from any and all claims or liabilities related to participation in Races, except to the extent caused by a Released Party’s gross negligence or willful misconduct or where rights cannot be waived by law.
Indemnification
Participants agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the Released Parties from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of: (a) the acts or omissions of the Participants or dogs; (b) injury to persons or damage to property caused by the dogs; and (c) breach of this Agreement.
Health, Vaccinations and Welfare
The Participants represent that their dogs are healthy, current on all legally required vaccinations (including rabies), and fit to perform, with no known history of dangerous behavior. Participants will provide proof of vaccination/licenses upon request and will ensure proper shade, water, rest, and humane treatment at all times.
Behavior and Control
The dogs must always remain under the Participants' control. Public interaction occurs only as directed by Festival staff. Immediate waste cleanup is required. At first sign of stress or aggression, the dogs must be removed from activity.
Emergency Care Authorization
If the dogs or the Participants require medical attention, Organizer may arrange first aid or emergency care. Participants authorize emergency veterinary care for dogs if Participants are unavailable and agree to be solely responsible for all related costs.
Photo/Video and Publicity
Participants grant Organizer a non‑exclusive, royalty‑free license to photograph, film, and record the dogs and Participants at the Festival and to use names, likenesses, and recordings for Festival publicity and documentation in any media, worldwide, in perpetuity.
Participants acknowledge and agree that Organizer shall be permitted to film, sound record and photograph the Festival, which may include, without limitation, filming, sound recording and photography featuring Participants' dogs and personnel, if any, (“Content”). Participants acknowledge and agree that Organizer is the sole and exclusive owner of all rights in the Content and hereby waives any and all: (i) rights in and to such Content, and (ii) claims that Participants may have related to or arising from the Content or its use. Without limitation, Organizer shall be permitted to use the Content anywhere in the world for promotional and other purposes, without any payment or compensation.
Independent Contractor
Participants participate as an independent contractor, not an employee or agent of Organizer.
Governing Law
The Races are governed and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Florida. Organizer, entrants and Participants agree that any disputes in any way relating to, or arising out of the Races shall be submitted to the American Arbitration Association (“AAA”) for arbitration before a single arbitrator in accordance with the rules of AAA then in force and effect as the sole and exclusive remedy for resolving such disputes. The parties agree that the decision of the arbitrator shall be final and binding and that a judgment may be entered on such arbitration award in any court of competent jurisdiction. The parties agree that any such arbitration shall take place in Miami, FL. The prevailing party in any such arbitration shall be entitled to recover its costs and expenses, including, without limitation, reasonable attorneys’ fees, incurred in connection with such arbitration.
